Iconic places you can spot from SKYWALK

Want to see what Sydney is famous for – all from above? SKYWALK at Sydney Tower Eye is the city’s best vantage point. Standing safe at 268 metres high with 360-degree views, you can tick off these iconic Sydney spots from a different angle.

George Street

It’s worth seeing the oldest street in Australia. George Street used to be a track trodden by convicts fetching water supplies. Today, see how this main street buzzes with people from all walks of life, businesses, restaurants, and shops.

Queen Victoria Building

Located on George Street, this Victorian-style heritage-listed building is a luxury shopping centre featuring over 200 stores. Affectionately known as the QVB, this building looks beautiful from SKYWALK because you can see its green copper roof domes.

Darling Harbour

The indigenous Eora people called this special place ‘Tumbalong,’ meaning a place where seafood is found. Today, Darling Harbour is home to waterside restaurants, bars and world-class attractions like family-favourites SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, and Madame Tussauds Sydney.

The Rocks

This historic neighbourhood lets you step back into Sydney’s colonial times. From above, visualise the journey of the Europeans from the sea to their first settlement spot in Sydney. More than 100 heritage sites now lie within the narrow streets of The Rocks.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Built in 1832, this architectural masterpiece remains the world’s largest steel arch bridge. To see the Sydney Harbour Bridge towering over a glittering harbour that hugs a sprawling city is bucket-list worthy.

Anzac Bridge

Named after the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACS), who fought in WWI, this span is the humble sibling of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Impressively designed, the cable-stayed bridge soars between Pyrmont and Glebe Island –  home of the famous Sydney Fish Markets.

Circular Quay

Watching cruises and ferries coming and going from the city’s main ferry terminal is quite the Sydney sight. Trace the ferries’ course to the shores of much-loved beach neighbourhoods like Manly and Watsons Bay.

Royal Botanic Garden

Established in 1816, these themed gardens are spread across 30 hectares by the sea. From SKYWALK, you can see for yourself how the Royal Botanic Garden and other green pockets of Sydney are a testament to the city’s green urban lifestyle.

St Mary’s Cathedral

It’s arguably the most beautifully designed church in Sydney. The neo-gothic style reflects the design of Notre Dame in Paris. Next to it is a sanctuary of huge fig trees at Hyde Park. Catch a birds-eye view of the landscaped gardens around the Archibald Fountain.

Woolloomooloo Wharf

Marvel at the giant navy ships usually docked near Woolloomooloo Wharf. There’s a rich history behind this now fashionable complex of eateries and shops. From exporting wool to troop deployment during World Wars, as well as the arrival point for new migrants in Australia.

Blue Mountains

On a clear day, you can catch this famous mountainous region that’s 80 kilometres away. The World Heritage Area is known for its dramatic natural scenery. For the locals, it’s a hotspot for road trips and outdoor adventures.

That’s 11 iconic places you can spot from SKYWALK at Sydney Tower. And that’s just the beginning!
